Our Corporate Social Responsibility

Payroll Giving 'Spirit'

At Transdev we believe in giving something back to the community that supports us. One of the ways we do this is through our Spirit program, the activities cantered around the program, and our larger Corporate Responsibility Strategy.

Implemented in 2009, Spirit is our payroll giving scheme, whereby employees have the opportunity to give to a number of charities, match-funded by Transdev up to $500 per person, per year.

Under the Spirit program, we support four key causes:

  • Cancer Research & Awareness
  • Animal Welfare
  • Awareness for depression and anxiety / helping those in need
  • Caring for sick children

Our Spirit payroll giving scheme is currently supported by almost 10% of our employees and we hope to increase the level of commitment for Spirit and the awareness of our causes among staff in the coming year. Since 2009, more than $400,000 has been donated to our charity partners.

Sustainable development is central to Transdev

As a public transport provider, we can help our customers and clients to reduce their carbon footprint by leaving their car at home and travelling by public transport. We work hard to reduce our own impact on our environment, and have implemented various local and national initiatives including:

  • Training our bus operators in fuel efficient driving techniques
  • Harvesting up to 40,000 litres of rainwater to wash our buses
  • Maintaining our fleet to ensure fuel efficiency
  • Minimising use of energy and paper in our depots and office.

Our commitment to international best practice in sustainability is evidenced in our aspects of our business attainment of ISO 14001, the international standard for Environmental management. We seek green alternatives in all , and strive to ensure our people are environmentally aware.

Brisbane RiverShare - because we're all in the same boat

Transdev, in partnership with Brisbane City Council, Maritime Safety Queensland and Rowing Queensland, launched a new river safety initiative in September 2014, aimed at educating users of the Brisbane River in safely navigating and sharing the river.

The ‘RiverShare’ campaign brings the Brisbane River Code of Conduct to life on screen, via an action packed and in parts, humorous 17 minute long training video, watch it here.

An accompanying RiverShare Pocket Guide, featuring five easy to remember tips to safely share the river, and a city reach map to aid with passage planning, is freely available to rowing and watersports clubs, schools and boating retailers, to get  river users ‘on the same page’ with safety.

For Transdev, the safety of our customers and employees is our number one priority

We are proud to have been accredited to the Australian standard AS 4801 for Occupational Health and Safety.

We believe in continuous improvement, across our entire business, so we have also worked to achieve accreditation in ISO 9001, the internationally recognised standard for quality management in business.

Rest assured that when you work, travel or partner with us, you're getting a quality service benchmarked against international best practice.
